Tough way to start the day, in more ways than one. I had a feeling the nuts were bad news, but everything else seemed to be screaming "FORCED LOSS" to me.

LOSS

This was one of those setups where the four-digit prize wasn't hard to figure out if you applied a little common sense, and once you did figure that out, there was only one way to go. Disappointing loss hree.

(CC1: Ambulance chasers... between those guys and the way this first half went, I can feel my bad mood starting to return)

Before the next IUFB, Drew takes a moment to acknowledge longtime Price staffer Marty Wagner; after 35 years on the show and 55 years in the business all told, today's his last day before retirement. The Peanut Gallery, bless 'em, gets a "MARTY!" chant going in his honor.

This is particularly embarassing for me... I said $7,325 myself, but only because I didn't even see the "91" card on the wheel! If I had, I would've instantly gravitated towards that and ignored everything else! I must need my perscription checked or something...

I don't want to alarm anyone, but this is starting to get serious...

We're on full wildlife alert in Studio 33... Toniann is looking down the barrel of the vultures and we're all facing the possibility of fumigation. Can this day possibly be salvaged? Let's find out...

Remove the 0... and apparently, remove the side holder for the removed digit as well! Ah, that Squeezy... finding new and interesting ways to break down since 1977.

Anyway, this is serious, considering this could end up being the second skunk job of Season 40 if it doesn't go well... so let's go ahead and find out if he won...

Showcases: Jeffrey (true) top winner, Rio runner-up. For some reason, Drew does the full rules spiel today.

1. This Showcase is On Ice
  • 5pc contemporary bar set
  • White gold & diamond jewelry
  • Trip to Moscow, Russia (6n)
    • Ice skating lessons at Red Square rink
    • It's still called "Red" Square? Interesting.
  • $5,000 cash
Jeffrey passes; Rio bids $24,000.
(My bid: $28,579)

2. What Is This "Theme" You Speak Of?
  • Trip to Monte Carlo (6n, Le Meridien Beach Plaza)
    • 1d Ferrari rental
  • Sea-Doo 180 Challenger 18' power boat w/trailer
Jeffrey bids $27,000.

Now that's how you save a lackluster episode! (And isn't it funny how it happens on a day Drew decides to spell out the Showcase rules for the first time in a long while?)

Drew closes with another shout-out to Marty Wagner (who joins everyone on stage for the celebration) and offers condolences to the family and friends of "Sylvester," a longtime worker at the TVC commissary, who recently passed away. Nice touch; I love these reminders that there's always far more people involved in your favorite shows than just the ones we see in front of the cameras, or even that get name-checked in the credits.

  1. Good Morning Devin!

This is LaTasha from this episode! I'm wondering if you have a copy of this episode? I thought, through the magic of the internet, that my episode would still be up and available to watch, so I didn't download it...and now it's gone :( If you don't have a copy, do you have any suggestions for obtaining one ie some other bank of TPIR video banks :) I love how you've made your own gameboards and such.

    Thanks so much in advance,
    LaTasha
