TPiRecap: 26 October 2011

Apologies for missing yesterday. Being so exhausted you become physically ill is no fun. 8^/

I did watch the show yesterday and keep my spreadsheet current, though, so all the weekly stats and figures will be correct. And it's a good thing I did miss yesterday, because the Double Overbid (first of the year) wouldn't have improved my mental state any. On the plus side, we had a Pocket ¢hange player pull off an amazing feat by drawing each of the $2, 75¢, and the 0¢ cards (which BTW now have a new design) from the board; according to my trusty HP48G, the odds against this are 1:6,840! Pretty impressive stuff.

Enough preamble, let's get on with it...

Maria sets what may be a record for speed-punching, doing it all in just about one fluid motion. Does it do any good? Well...

Punch #1
$2500
STOP
(Punch #2: $250; Punch #3: $1,000; Punch #4: $500)

So in just three playings so far with the new distribution, the Punchboard has yielded a total of $3,600 to contestants, which is more than it could do in its first six playings last season. So far, so good, but the jury is still out...

Houston, We Have a Problem: The "mascara" flag is stuck behind the GP prop, and Drew has to apply muscle to work it loose. Unfortunately, as he does, not only does Gwendolyn do an impromptu audition to take over his job, but the flag accidentally flips open to reveal the mascara's ARP ($7.99) to the masses, though it's closed again by the time Drew gets it out. The judges say to let it go, apparently, because no comment is made about it...

...and now we know why. Oh well.

Drew's Gwendolyn's Inspiration Putt:
Fresh off his shoulder injury, Drew celebrates his return to putting form by... offering the putter to Gwendolyn, who ignores Drew's "CAREFUL!"s to give us a... way too strong and off-center putt.

Steven's First Putt:
Not way too strong and off-center... on the contrary, it's straight and true!
FOUR IN A ROW!

We're making up for lost ground today so far, that's for sure...

It's down to Kristin and Christopher. Which of them will make it on stage, or will both end up as carrion? Let's watch...
