TPiRecap: 1 April 2013 (Better Late Than Never!)

And now, delayed two days due to illness (both my own and my computer's)... I just couldn't let this year's April Fool's shenanigans go unrecapped!

Here goes...

Episode # 6291K
Airdate 1 April 2013
VTR 21 February 2013
First Four Constance, Coby, Amy, Peter (L-R)
Today's Models Manuela Abreález, Amber Lancaster, Gwendolyn Osborne, Rob Wilson

...”No, no, no, not so fast!” says Gwendolyn, who doesn't hand over the mic.

Since today is April Fool's Day, and since the show always does something outrageous and/or silly to mark the occasion, it seems the perfect opportunity to stage a little mutiny.

Or, in simpler language, it's time for the ol' Switcheroo – and I don't mean the Pricing Game.
As Gwendolyn explains, she and the other models -- as you can see above, the gang's all here today, with the obvious and understandable exception of new mommy Rachel -- are taking over the show today, and Drew and George are gonna be the ones showing off the prizes!

So while Gwendolyn tells Drew to "scurry along and go get your heels on," we'll make a slight amendment to our data box:

Episode # 6291K Models Rule!
Airdate 1 April 2013
VTR 21 February 2013
First Four Constance, Coby, Amy, Peter (R-L)
Today's Models Drew Carey, George Gray

We start things off with Gwendolyn hosting and Amber in the Gray Area. This is gonna be epic, one way or another -- either an epic win or an epic fail, we shall have to see.

Oh yeah -- we've got a show to do, don't we? So let's start doing it!

APRIL FOOLS, LFATs! (+$80)

Now, how much do you wanna bet that Richards set this one up deliberately so it'd cross up regular viewers who're used to El Cheapo? I guess if that's the case we'll have to start looking for intentional feints now. Still, at least it didn't cost Amy a car!

Amber's tagged out to Rob Wilson for the next Come On Down. Also, Manuela is hosting this next segment, so I guess we're rotating host/announcer combos with each spot. Works for me!

2. JumpSport trampoline w/enclosure & basketball hoop (DC, GG)
Because Drew and George in scrubs on a trampoline is what you've always wanted to see -- and we deliver! Drew even does a flip, to the delight of everyone (including the SFX suite!)

Gut instinct: Switch 'em. I'm almost positive that hot tub is worth more than five grand.

Here's to hoping Constance can make the most of them.

Ugh. I guess after coughing up over twenty grand last week, Ebenezer Plinko decided he just had to revert to type. But what can you do (that S&P would let you get away with, anyway)? Sometimes, that's just the way the chip bounces.

A nice, fun, harmless little stunt, though to be quite honest it wasn't quite up to the par of past April Fool's Day spectaculars; it's not the day Mimi took over the show by a long shot, nor was it the intentionally blooper-laden "10,000th" stunt. But a fun day nonetheless, and a great showcase for the Studio 33 Modeling Corps.

I guess models do rule! ;^)
