An exacta is definitely a good way to start a spectacular!

Everyone who gets on stage will get a pair of Apple iPhone 5s (32GB), courtesy of RetailMeNot.com ($598; MA). This will be reflected in the Leader Board, and you can win a pair of your own courtesy of the recently redesigned priceisright.com (which I now notice is sans message board, not that it was all that great to begin with).

As if that wasn't enough, how about 2 for the Price of 1 -- for a car!:
2013 Honda Civic LX (AT, 1.8L, rear-view camera; $18,965; RW)

In response to Drew's question, this game has been played for a car in the past -- I specifically remember at least two instances during the Barker Administration, early- to mid-'90s or so -- but it doesn't happen often at all, and certainly not in the last several years at least.

I thought if they blew any digit, it was the third one, but I guess there is a difference in price between "his" and "hers" sunglasses...

Bullseye:
Flowers (1-800-Flowers; 12 deliveries), maid service (12 visits) & dinners (The Cheesecake Factory; 24 meals) for a year ($5,350; AL)

  • Mott's applesauce (24oz)
  • Funyuns onion flavored rings
  • Cortizone 10 Intensive Healing anti-itch cream
  • Hershey's chocolate-flavored corn syrup (that's really all it is, folks...)
  • Kraft Singles American cheese-flavored chemical by-product (ditto...)

Based on yesterday's Rat Race, one way to win here would be to buy two Cortizones ($5.28 per × 2 = $10.56).

WIN!

Of course, that works too!

Before we call down our next maternal pair, we turn our attention to the Plinko Plasma -- or "Door #4," as the show officially refers to it -- where we get some Skyped greetings from our very own new mommy, Rachel Reynolds! She's still on maternity leave after giving birth to little Ruby Ray back in February, and mother and daughter are both doing well. The kid's even wearing a little shirt that procailms her as "A Reynolds & de Lucci Production," which cracked me up.

Rachel then provides us with a Historic First™ -- the very first Come On Down to be delivered "live" via Skype!

They may have to recalibrate that thing again; I noticed it was starting to tick down on its own accord after Taelor took her hand off the Leever. (In case you didn't know, the contestant really does control the game with the Leever; it's not a dummy prop, like the button in Bonkers!, where someone in the back does all the real work.)

And from all of us at TPiRecap Towers, we wish every mother out there (especially my own, even though I know she'll never read this) the happiest of days on Sunday! You deserve it for all the work you do!

We're back Monday...

  1. 1. Pretty sure Yolanda is the same Yolanda from the "tube top incident". George called them down as "Tonya and Yolanda Bowsley".

    2. Yes indeed, 2 For The Price Of 1 was played for a car at least once. The most famous incident is from Rod Roddy's "a barbecue and a new car" goof during a One Bid round. The pricing game after that particular One Bid round was 2 For The Price Of 1, and the prizes were...you guessed it, a barbecue and a new car.

    1. EDIT: It wasn't Yolanda. The woman's name is JoLanda Mosley. And JoLanda was the daughter. Tonya was the mother.
