TPiRecap: 20 May 2013

As of today, we're officially in the home stretch of Season 41. Not counting make-good airings or summertime specials, there are just four weeks remaining before the Priceless Summer kicks off. Also, a programming note: Next Monday's show is marked on my schedule as a repeat (of episode #6105K), so there very likely won't be a recap then.

Additionally, there may be one more service interruption on my end at some point in the near future, due to family business taking me away to my home-away-from on Long Island. This time, however, circumstances have changed to where I may be able to at least provide speedruns for all but the days I'll actually be in transit. At this point I don't know for sure one way or the other if I'm even going to be going, so consider this just an FYI for the time being. Further updates as warranted.

In the meantime, let's do this...

Episode # 6361K
Airdate 20 May 2013
VTR 15 April 2013
First Four Patricia, Jamel, Christine, Janaye (R-L)
Today's Models Manuela Abreález, Amber Lancaster, Gwendolyn Osborne-Smith

Upon further review, for at least the remainder of this season Gwendolyn's credit will read as "Gwendolyn Osbourne-Smith" and her abbreviation will be "GOS." It seems the only fair way to resolve whatever controversy there may be over which name she now wishes to go by.

The only other believable price was $8,818, and prices with three of the same digit are -- as a general rule -- best avoided.

Sure enough, the only question is what the game will be -- and the answer is, Five Price Tags:

(MA with the tags)
$19,990
$22,525
$20,775

$23,322

$19K, says I.

I've figured it out! All Drew has to do is say that Janaye has to "eliminate all the wrong prices" and she'll end up playing it like Gas Money, and thus win on her first pick! (Only half-joking, alas...)

Of course, she'd actually have had to win a pick before being able to test that theory. Ugh, that was brutal. It's been a long time since someone totally bombed out like this in 5PT. Depressing.

Our new Rowbird, Edward, is deaf; his interpreter Matthew stands on stage next to Drew and signs for him.

To be honest, I was worried about the TV and the smoker... I seemed to recall the smoker being insanely expensive. Guess I was wrong, though. Nice win!

I'd probably take out the 3, though the 8 looks likely as well. Under no circumstances should anyone even consider removing the zero...

Well, this certainly doesn't happen every day, that's for sure!

Budget Armageddon has struck in earnest -- notice we've fallen below the $130K mark for this episode's prize budget. On the other hand, there are a few spectaculars coming, including the summertime specials, so maybe they're just saving money for those. We shall have to see.

Back tomorrow with more.
