JUST BARELY!

And here I was convinced she'd gone too far! As it is she only just managed to win by about five bucks or so. And either way, it's nice to see a trip worth more than five or six grand again after the last few weeks of Budget Ragnarok.

SUICIDE

Drew: "I -- I can't... she'll find out during the commercial."

Remember, folks: Bidding one dollar higher than someone else is sound strategy. Bidding one dollar lower than someone else is just plain dumb. The only way that works is if you happen to stumble on an exacta; otherwise, you're just flat-out going against the entire concept of Contestant's Row, which is to be the closest to the ARP without going over. That's why such bids get the "SUICIDE" label from me; it's nothing personal.

I'm no good at this game, so I'm not even going to try to guess at the price on the first try. Maybe the second.

Okay. Let's be logical here. I know, that's hard sometimes with some of these car prices lately, but it can be done. To wit:

We know the hundreds digit is 2, that goes without saying. The chances of a doubled digit at the end are relatively low, so we can rule out that 8 in the computer price, which leaves us with a 7. All that's left, then, is to determine whether you believe a Scion xB is a $17K or a $19K car. Personally, I think $19,278 looks like the better price here -- on the other hand, I totally botched Money Game earlier, so take my advice for what it's worth...

And as you can see, it's not worth much -- at least not when Mike's in budget mode. Nice going, Kimberly, you Robin Hood you! 8^)

Memo to Price Graphics Dep't.: Zest ≠ soap. If anything, it's a solid form of stuff like you get in most liquid body washes these days; a more correct term would be "body bar."  Understandable mistake though.

  1. I'm so glad Khaneshia didn't go up on stage after that awful "suicide" bid. Can you imagine how badly she would've played her pricing game had she actually made it on stage? Enjoy Leftover Island Khaneshia because you deserve it.

  2. The Check-Out playing should go on Game Show Garbage.
