Just your typical, average, everyday penultimate "regular" episode of the season. Of course, dedicated Price fans already know that today we'll see an iconic element of the show return after a four-year hiatus. If you don't already know, stick around -- you'll find out soon enough what I'm talking about. ;^)

Yeah, with this game's record, it should be only a "periodic" thing... >_> <_< >_>

So for all that bouncing around, Juan's brought the game to the Last Chance Saloon with a simple coin-flip; is that car $15,932 or $15,962? I'll bet a thirty-dollar difference has never made quite so much difference in young Juan's life as it does right now...

That's no mistake on the final layout; he actually grabbed both the 3 and 6 to poll the Peanut Gallery with, and put them both in the tens slot with the 6 covering the 3. Obviously, he should've gone the other way on that.

Oh well.

And here we go.

Rita, who's apparently won on a Price slot machine in Vegas before, will now become the first contestant in over four years to play the one and only, newly refurbished, fabled in story and song... Check Game:
The Samsung Stainless Steel Kitchen Appliance Triangle of Terror (AL)

The prop looks pretty much the same as always, with the exception that its rounded top has been chopped off, presumably so it would fit on the newer Turntable design (which I'm assuming now is the primary reason it was taken out of the lineup around the time Home Base was redesigned in Season 38), and the ARP displays are the now-ubiquitous plasma screens. The Check Game title now "floats" above the prop and includes a curlicue $, and there's even a branded ARP tag now. The check number is now "0041" instead of "1133" -- and if 0041 refers to what I think it refers to, aren't we being mighty presumptuous with those leading zeroes? -- and the "TODAY, 20NOW" bit has been banished.

A quick rules refresher, for those who may be rusty: The object of the game is for Rita to write out the check for any amount she wishes. However, the amount of the check will be added to the ARP of the kitchen appliances, and if the sum total of both is anywhere between $7,000 and $8,000 inclusive, she will win the appliances and the cash value of the check.

Well, the good news here is thatt Check Game's back in the lineup after far too long an absence. The bad news is, it's back to its losing ways right out of the chute. Meh. Still, welcome back and all.

Although it must be said, she did get a lot closer than many recent players have done. In the end, she was only eight dollars off the ARP... not bad.

Many people complain about That's Too Much!, others groan whenever they see Gas Money, and some roll their eyes at Temptation, One Away, or Cover Up. Stacky is my personal car-game bane. We see here why.

The season's nearly over, but Leftover Island is still taking new visitors... of whom Brett will be one if he doesn't do something to improve his lot tout de suite.

Music Change: The sound effects of the Geezmo appear to have been revamped again; it sounds way more ethereal than before.

  1. Cover (The Elements) Up: I was kind of worried about a wipeout with that setup. Fortunately that didn't happen. Unfortunately, another 50/50 finish is a stinger.

Most Expen$ive: Proving some players do still pay attention enough. ^^

Punch-a-Bunch: Huzzah! We finally got a $10,000 winner once again! Now waiting for that $25,000...

Check Game: Welcome back, old friend! I missed you. Nice redesign to it as well! The "VOID" stamp still lives...ah, memories of Barker in 2007 - "You'd be surprised how many of these we find in the trash!" :p Unfortunately, that check is trash bait.

Stack the Deck: Uh, yeah...let's just move on.

Magic #: Hello, cheapo trip! Fortunately our contestant just squeezed the number right in.

Showcases: Not much to say, pretty average win.
