TPiRecap: 25 June 2013 (Make-Good #1)

Still waiting on word to come back from the first Season 42 tapings, which were held yesterday. If anyone reading this attended and is allowed to talk about some of the changes, if any, we can expect come September, feel free to drop me a line or three and tell the world about them.

Speaking of standard game show non-disclosure agreements, the contestants on today's show have been waiting almost a full year to tell their friends and family what they won on their sojurn down Beverly and Fairfax way... so let's not keep them waiting even one moment longer! For them, it's been a long time coming...

From where I'm sitting, that zero absolutely has to stay where it is. Everything else is up for grabs... maybe the 7 seems more like the number that should be taken out than the others do.

Yes, 3 Strikes on a make-good show. This could be epic, or it could be a disappointment of the highest level.

I'm thinking... $54,967. But as always... I'm just the recapper, and one that's been proven wrong so many times before.

Only one way to see which way the wind blows...

OK, using logic and process of elimination, attentive home viewers have by now figured out the price. Have you? More importantly, has Cam?

That always hurts. But could you imagine if Cam had won a Jag... and had to keep it a secret for almost one full year? That might have hurt even more.

  2. MyBathUSA Rain Forest 6 steam shower (GOS)
  3. Sony 24" touchscreen computer (BD-ROM, 8GB RAM, 3TB HD, wireless AIO, 3D glasses; AL)

As much as I'm tempted to, I won't make the obvious snide commentary regarding that first prize. My inner snark makes it a point of honor that it never goes after prey that's already mortally wounded.

This one's tough, folks. I was prepared to call the computer overpriced, until George hit me with three teras of HD space. Now, I just don't know.

Well done! Though now I have to wonder... with all the time elapsed between the date of this taping and now, will the show be obligated to substitute another bike for that LiveSTRONG model, all things being what they are? Not that it isn't tax bait to begin with, of course, but... well, you know.

It may be late, but Leftover Island still awaits either Terri or Rebecca, or maybe both. Rebecca's in a better position, as she'll have the last-bid advantage.

6. George actually commandeers the studio lights to demonstrate his new toy, a Sony Handycam HD camcorder with a built-in projector... neat!

...Wow. We actually have a bailout on Grandy for the first time in... jeez, I can't even remember, that's how long it's been! Not even when the top prize has been inflated, such as for MDS play, the 40 Grand Game stunt for the anniversary show, or even during Big Money Week where the prize levels were all multiplied by ten.

Gotta admit, that was a novelty.
