Note
Salute to Teachers Special

All contestants today are teachers, as you might well expect. I'll tell you what kind of teachers they are as they get on stage.

1. An Apple (iPad) for the teacher (128GBs worth) w/smart cover (RR)
Cheryl
Japheth
Karen
Arnella

(A nice touch -- instead of the typical SportsType font, Contestant's Row bids appear as chalkboard writing on the standard-color backgrounds.)

Arnella, a special-ed teacher representing (if her T-shirt is any indication) Step-Up Educational Services, LLC, plays a very theme-appropriate game for teachers -- our new student this year, Do the Math:
  1. Trip to Miami, FL (6n, Beacon South Beach, limo nightclub tour w/VIP entry; MO)
  2. Trip to St. George, UT (6n, Red Mountain Resort, essential retreat pkg, 3 meals/day; RR)

Although the Distance rule suggests the trip to Miami would be more expensive, I'm thinking that's just a bit too obvious this time, so I'd add here.

Arnella subtracts...
Well, I'm wrong (as is increasingly usual) -- and just look at those numbers! A $16,894 haul is pretty much equivalent to a car win!

After new arrival Matthew's wild Come On Down, Drew quippeth the followeth: "I honestly hope that you, when you go back home to your classes, that you show this episode of The Price is Right to your students... as if they don't have enough trouble right now respecting you!" ;^)

Matthew, who teaches drivers' ed, appropriately gets to play for a car in Lucky $even:
2013 Toyota Yaris L (1.5L, AT, carpeted mats, cargo mat, security system, LuxCare; RR)

As an aside, there's no secret meaning or hidden conspiracy here, that Rachel is the one "driving" the car out for a drivers-ed teacher. We all remember the problems she's had in years gone by... ;^)

As Cheryl gets fitted for her pointed cap, John, who teaches middle-school social studies in Downing, CA, winds up the school day with a little home ec, in the form of Grand Game:

  • Selsun Blue moisturizing dandruff shampoo
  • General Mills Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal bars (6)
  • Aspercreme odor-free pain relieving creme
  • Nestlé Coffee-Mate Amaretto coffee creamer

  1. What is the order of evil products, from least to greatest? That could be a clue for future playings.
