Models
The bold and beautiful Karla Mosley, Rachel Reynolds

For those interested in the modeling side of the equation, and have thus been curious as to what's been going on in that department lately: My understanding is that we'll be having two-model shows for at least the next little bit, usually with Rachel and a guest (as it has been for the first nine shows of Season 42). As to why they're doing this... well, who knows? I haven't heard that this is a permament change, but on the other hand I also haven't heard that it's just a temporary measure either. Time, as always, will tell.

After some deliberation, the Peanut Gallery talked her into seeing what else she punched... that could have been a mistake.

But instead it was a lateral move, and she bailed out just in time.

As George puts it, we now go "from Punch-a-Bunch... to Brenda Bunch!" ^^;

Brenda actually meant to bid $2,500, but misspoke -- and evidently the software controlling the displays doesn't allow a bid to be changed once it's "locked in," which means once it appears in front of you that's your bid whether you like it or not. The moral of the story, then, is to make sure you're saying what you mean to say...

NOPE

Interestingly enough, we have a new splitscreen reveal for this game -- one that may actually, finally help players figure out what they're supposed to do here, and is actually pretty close to what I do in these recaps! When Rachel (or whoever) flips over the ARP tag, we now see the "range" of the last two prices at the bottom of the screen (in this case, $20,841 and $22,050) in such a way that the tag is visually in between those prices. As silly as that may sound, this may indeed be the final nudge in the right direction players need to understand the goal of the game. I only hope that's how it does, in fact, work out.

Unlike the inherently-unfair Stack the Deck, there is nothing wrong with this game in theory, it just needs to be explained a lot better to the player. At least, that's my opinion on the subject. This is TTM!'s last chance to prove that hypothesis. If this doesn't work, it may be time to consider the scrap heap after all.

$4,800? For an Ashley bed!? Give me a moment to repair the hole my jaw just made in the floor...

I would kinda like to see Magic # adopt a rule where winners get their Magic # in cash as well as the two prizes. It would certainly encourage players to be more adventurous with the Leever, that's for sure. But then, I suppose it could throw this game into conflict with Do the Math and Check Game if they did...

Pretty obvious to me... MORE, LESS, and LESS for the three prizes along the Bronze Road.

Incidentally, there's now a Partial Win rule for this game as well, and it goes into effect if Brenda makes it to the car at all.

* Here we go again... it seems that a contestant was deemed ineligible after the taping, and so will not be receiving any of his/her prizes.  Unfortunately, that is literally all the information I have as of this writing -- no indication of who it is.  For all I know it could be one of the Contestants Not Appearing On Stage, but something tells me otherwise.  Any help in tracking this down would be very much appreciated.

  1. No mention of the "A contestant within this episode was deemed ineligible..." bit at the end of the show?

  2. I know Gwendolyn tweeted she'd be back after someone had asked her where she was. I would imagine we'll see Amber, Manuela, and Rob show up again, too.
