TPiRecap: 9 October 2013 (Publisher's Clearing House Week #3)

And here we go again. Apologies for yesterday's undue brusqueness, but let's just say I was in a pretty bad place at the time. All is well today, however, so let's get right back into the swing of things.

It's In the Bag:

(No need to tell you who's standing by on GPs, since there's only two models today)
  • Good & Plenty candy
  • Cholula hot sauce (TPiRecap Towers Seal of Approval!)
  • Hormel Mary Kitchen corned beef hash
  • Ovaltine malted milk mix
  • PictSweet Stem'ables baby Brussels sprouts
  • Gold Bond Ultimate Healing lotion

Hmm... This would be my arrangement, if it were me on stage:
Candy

Hot sauce
Drink mix
Brussels sprouts
$1.29
$8.99
$2.69
$5.49
$4.49

But as you well know, I'm not on stage -- Cameron is. This is what he does:

Candy

Hot sauce
Drink mix
Brussels sprouts
$1.29
$8.99
$2.69
$5.49
$4.49

Déja vù all over again, huh? Let's see how we did now...

Yeee-OWTCH. Cholula is expensive out there ($2.69, or thereabouts, is actually what I pay for it at my local Kroger!).

I think we have a classic TV Trap in play here. I'm going with the treadmill -- and so is Delores:

$20,000 BONUS! (+$31)
(Stacked Deck, El Cheapo Falso)

Yep, I fell for it again. Call it a reflex after decades of conditioning to expect El Cheapo to rear his ugly head whenever I see an "0x" number on the board.

But it's a happy mistake as far as Adam's concerned, for it's time to release the Prize Patrol from their Door #3 captivity and present him with his bonus check! ^^;

  2. Apple Mac Pro computer (27" display, 6GB RAM, 1TB HD, AIO; RR)

I do promise, eventually, to design a much better-looking template for this game. For now, however, we'll make do with the old standby:

GOOOOAL!

Another fairly easy setup, at least for attentive viewers. The way this week has been going for the most part, however, I'm the last one who's gonna complain about it. ^^;

Alas, poor Kimberly... all day long she's been in the right church, but just can't seem to find the right pew. And now she's on the verge of banishment to Leftover Island. Can she turn her luck around in this, her last chance at it?

Before the race, I should explain the new Partial Win rule for this game. Rat Race, as usual, is only considered "won" if a player's chosen rat comes in first (thus winning the top prize, the car). However, as long as the player wins something in the race, that will be counted as a Partial. An outright loss will only be registered if the player comes up empty.

With that out of the way, let the race commence! And...

Sunny Side

Golden Goose

2

WIN!
(Results are unofficial and based on camera shots during the race. Only Purple Prose and Blue Bomber visibly crossed the finish line in the finished episode, while Sunny Side clearly stalled out before reaching the end.)

A much better day than this week's been going so far!

1 comment:

  1. "Golden Goose" also was visibly just short of the finish line in the final shot of the board. The nose may have just crossed, but it definitely was not fully in the checkered area as the other three rats were.
