Hmm. Tempted to say $37,841 would be my pick, but $43,781 also has a certain ring to it.

Let's find out.

If you're paying attention, you now know what the price has to be - $43,187. Now it's just a matter of A) if Stanley is also paying attention, and B) if he can avoid those pesky Strikes still in the bag.

If there's a better way to start the show than with a Big Four win, I don't know what it could be!

The only downer, of course, is that it's gonna be just this side of impossible for anyone to follow that kind of win... not, of course, that we can't try!

Dew actually makes a point of revealing the other ARPs, just to demonstrate that Katherine really had no chance after that first purchase.

But in a first half that also included a 3 Strikes win, can we as viewers really complain that much?

A day that started with such promise is going downhill rather alarmingly now... though it does take quite a bit to fully erase the high of 3 Strikes, admittedly. On the other hand, that was a rather nasty little trick here.

Timothy, even though you stomped on one of my raw nerves with that last bid of yours, I'd rather not have to banish you to Leftover Island if I don't have to. You can make amends by getting out of the Row on this, your last chance.

Nine seconds flat! I love it when I can actually reason this out. Of course, it's always so much easier sitting at home than it is in the studio too.

A Race Game ace is a fine way to salvage an otherwise downbeat second half!

Showcases: Stanley (true) top winner, Laura runner-up.

Drew calls attention to the "new" Showcase podia (and the new Home Base floor) for the first time, so we can assume this taping was the first time these were introduced.

1. Cruisin'
  • Manhattan Cruisers his & hers beach cruisers (RR)
  • Trip to Newport Beach, CA (limo, 3n, Fairmont Newport Beach Hotel; RR)
    • 2hr boat ride
  • ElectraCraft 16CS 15'6" party boat w/trailer (JM)
Stanley passes; Laura, who was apparently homeless one year ago, bids $28,200.
(My bid: $25,242)

  • Pair of Martien Bluetooth designer watches
  • Trip to Yokohama, Japan (6n; RR)
    • 2 theme park tickets (Ferris wheel clock @ Yokohama Cosmo World)
  • Ducati Monster 796 motorcycle (; JM)
Stanley bids $21,000.

(One neat thing I didn't notice before about the new podia: The lower section -- the bit with the G-T asterisk on it -- actually starts glowing on and off for the winner. Nice touch!)
