$7,532 is the only price that looks even remotely correct. I would say $5,321 has a small chance of being correct as well, but it strikes me as unlikely.

Off to the magical land of Door #2 for a rousing game of Most Expen$ive -- made all the more rousing by featuring a remixed version of "The Cats" as a prize bed:
  1. RCS 30" stainless steel barbecue (GOS)
  2. Burberry designer accessories (RR)
  3. Maytag Bravos washer & dryer (GG)

I like these modern remakes of classic Price cues. I hope we see, or rather hear, more of them going forward; it's a good idea, especially for the more iconic melodies.

Oh, and I almost believe the logical choice here (the washer and dryer) is the way to go in this setup too. It couldn't be twice in a row, though... could it?

NOT A CHANCE

Now I'm torn as to whether it's accessories or barbecues that are the bigger wild cards in games like this. >_<

Let's wash that bad taste right out of our mouths, however, with the arrival of today's Special Guest: Bernie, a little (Chihuahua?) puppy with a yellow ribbon who has practically weaponized the concept of "cute" -- just ask Gwendolyn. You can find him at the East Valley Shelter in Van Nuys, and for those of us who don't live in SoCal, we can find a little friend just like that at a shelter near where we live.

Seriously, guys, Bernie is just adorable.

Before we get to our next IUFB, Drew says he's "heard a rumor" that a Certain Someone Whose Name is On the Studio (and Whose Birthday We're Celebrating This Week) might, just possibly might, be dropping by tomorrow. Of course, you already know it's more than just a rumor, because you read sites like this one! ;^) The question is, will he be doing more than just "dropping by"...

...Excuse me for a moment...

[For the next ten minutes, all you hear are faint screams in the distance, occasionally punctuated by what sounds like furniture being destroyed in various manners. If you listen really closely, you might just be able to pick the words "FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!" and "MINIMUM!" out of the cacophany.]

...Phew... sorry about that, folks. Needed to break -- er, needed a break. I'm fine now. Really. I swear.

LOSS

If I said what I really wanted to say here, I'd lose my ostensible PG rating. So let's just put this whole segment behind us and pretend it never happened. You never saw this. Bernie ate the tape. In the immortal words of Max Kellerman, NEXT TOPIC.

Carla gets a shot at redemption in the Showcases. I wish her well. (I don't think anyone reading this interpreted what I said as a personal shot at her, but just in case someone did: I don't play that way. I always root for the contestant in these games, even when they do something less than bright during their time on stage. Nervousness and brainfreezes can happen to anyone, after all. Just so we're clear, my beef is with Stacky, not Carla!)

After that disastrous third spot, I welcome Racey like an old friend. (Now I just hope Kevin doesn't pull a deer-in-the-headlights...)

$879 goes with the camera, $3,490 on the pool table, $4,995 on the sauna, and that leaves the gym to be $1,395. I can live with these predictions.

(Note: My Partial Win rule for Race Game only comes into play if the contestant wins two or more prizes. That's a change from my initial plan, but after consideration it seems only fair to do it this way.)

This episode is testing me, isn't it? Well, bring it on, says I. After Stacky I can handle anything.

  1. I keep forgetting, what exactly is the "Triangle of Terror"?

    1. Range, refrigerator, dishwasher.

The actual "Triangle of Terror" name is an old WWF reference from circa 1991; the feel faction of Sgt. Slaughter, Gen. Adnan, and Col. Mustafa (the once and future Iron Sheik) was called this.

  2. The Sirius radio One Bid does seem to have an edit. There was probably at least one or two overbids that were edited out of the broadcast to reach the 38-minute limit for broadcasts.
