TPiRecap: 22 January 2013 (Back From the DL Edition)

So... what did I miss while I was away? Not much, just a DSW on Monday and two Lucky $even wins in a row... ^^;

Maybe I should hurt my hand more often? Naaah...

After Andrea nearly bowls Drew over behind the GPT, it's time for It's In the Bag to formally welcome me back:
  • Christopher Ranch minced garlic (8oz)
  • The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Espresso Roast whole bean coffee
  • Jif Extra Crunchy peanut butter (16oz)
  • Schiff MegaRed Omega-3 krill oil supplement
  • Chef Boyardee Mini Dinosaurs pasta
  • All Whites egg whites (32oz)

In a startling break from tradition (GASP! HORRORS!), the $1,000 bag is the most expensive item, while the $2,000 bag hides the least. Usually, of course, it's the other way around. Not that it really matters, since the difficulty isn't affected by this at all -- either way, rare indeed is the setup where one cannot get to at least the third bag before making a mistake...

...What do you mean, "that happened while I was gone?" Jeez, I leave for four episodes and the whole place goes to hell... ;^)

Anyway, the supplement and the Mini Dinos obviously go in those first two bags. After that, coffee beans look like they're about ten bucks, after which I'd put the garlic in $3.49 and the egg whites in $4.49. (Peanut butter, as we have come to learn in recent GP games, is surprisingly expensive.)

This, however, is Andrea's game, and this is how she sees matters:

Color me surprised on the peanut butter. I guess it's just Skippy that's the expensive stuff. In any event, escaping Baggy with four grand in your pocket is hardly a bad day's work, especially lately.

From where I sit, this one's a cakewalk. TVs end in -00 more often than not, while ATVs and the like end in -99. These two prices should be subtracted.

Kevin subtracts...
Don't you just love an easy one every so often? ^^;

I'm inclined to believe 18 for the front of the car, but the back is baffling to me. Hope this works out.

"Fortune smiles upon thee, RITA. Thou hast found the Front of the Taurus."

NES jokes aside, that was a lucky break. There are just about four likely candidates for the back of the car -- and for once, it could even realistically be the season number. ($18,642 is a perfectly reasonable Cruze price.) I'd list the likely candidates as 74, 96, 63, and 42, in descending order of preference.

I will never understand why such a surprisingly large number of people think "bid $1 less than someone else" is anything even close to good Contestant's Row practice.

Mary cartwheels her way to Double Prices:
Trip to Kauai, HI (5n, Aston Aloha Beach Hotel, daily breakfast, ocean rafting adventure; AL)

In a reference that is more timely now than when this episode was recorded, it is revealed that Amber was a cheerleader for a certain professional gridiron football team in the Pacific Northwest (that shall remain nameless because that league has lawyers we fear) before becoming a Price model.

  1. Hello, i provided you with material for the entire week and a half you missed in recaps with the injured hand for you to work with and play catchup with in your facebook inbox.

    1. I do appreciate that, but Facebook really isn't the best way to get a hold of me; I barely use it unless I have to. Use G+ or email instead.

    2. Can i get both the G+ and or email addresses for you sir, so i can resend my GoldenRoad.net link for that entire week and a half you missed with a broken hand?

    3. There's no need for it, I already got the necessary info from another source before you even offered (and I did grab yours off my Facebook account in any event). But thanks anyway. 8^)
