TPiRecap: 4 Februrary 2014

For whatever reason, today's show was originally supposed to air about six weeks ago. Perhaps we'll get a clue during today's proceedings.

Lord knows, I've been told often enough in the past that I need to get a clue. ;^)

Let's do it!

Episode #
6545K
Airdate
4 February 2014

7 October 2013

Drew notes that today is Rachel's birthday. It's unclear if he means the taping date or the airdate (which would be the originally-planned airdate, of course, not February 4th).

2 for the Price of 1:

George announces the combined total is $5,287 (remember that I go back and add the correct ARP of the appliances ex post facto). What's our rule with the Triangle of Terror, gang? That's right -- it always ends in 7. That pretty much cinches what the third digit of the small stuff has to be.

For my part, I'm gonna say $840.

I THOUGHT SO

Well, at least she did the right thing by calling for the middle number as her freebie. I guess if you don't pay attention to prices, the $500 range might seem about right for small kitchen appliances like that -- but if you do pay attention, you know that Kitchen Aid stand mixer is $300 by itself. (And if you didn't... well, you do now. See, we seek to educate as well as entertain here at the Towers.)

And now, the other alphabetical extreme of the active-duty roster, Any Number:

  2. 2014 Mazda3 i-Touring (2.0L, 6MT, push-button start, cargo tray, paint/fabric prot, cargo mat; GOS)

Could've been worse, she could've done what seemingly everyone does when it's an option, and think the car price ended in 0. Still...

  • Bahlsen Hit cookies
  • Ronzoni Garden Delight rotini

If past patterns continue to hold, we can fully expect five Hot Pockets (@ $2.49/ea) to win this game...

Actually went up in price by twenty cents. My call would've missed completely. Ah well, probably should've expected that. But once again, Hot Pockets save the day!

On another note, looking at the total amount offered so far today... with the exception of the obligatory car game, nothing else on stage has exceeded six grand in total value; this game actually came the closest to that mark, in fact. We're either saving money for something spectacular later on in the show (possibly a Showcase) or we're just in Budget Lockdown. We shall see which is correct.

(Also worth noting is that I haven't seen anything yet that would've booted this show out of its originally-scheduled airdate... hmm.)

Well, now we know. Except now it comes down to the SPs, at least one of which qualifies as a total coin-flip.

Luckily, Theresa picks the one that's not a coin-flip for her first chance.
