I like Chanel's shirt. She obviously hedged her bets in trying to predict what game she'd play if she made it on stage:

"We need 10 Chances
to Pay the Rent
or Any Number
or Plinko or...
Do the Math!"

However, all of these guesses are wrong, because she's getting Switcheroo:
2014 Toyota Tacoma regular cab 4×2 truck (2.7L, 4AT, rear sliding window, LoJack+, paint/fabric prot; DG and apparently Chanel herself couldn't resist checking it out up-close)

(Rachel can't see the forest for the SP trees:)
  • Mavea water filtration pitcher
  • Shark steam iron
  • Cuisinart ice cream maker
  • Bissell Little Green steam cleaning machine

No 1 in play this time. Interesting.

Predictions... hmm. $35 for the pitcher, $40 for the iron, $60 for the ice cream maker, $90 for the cleaner. Leaves 2 (and a Dice Game price) for the truck. I don't think that's gonna happen. I predict she'll throw the 6 or 9 into the truck's price right away and never touch that cube again.

I'm kinda glad to be proven wrong on at least that much. In fact, she actually had the 2 in the truck price until almost literally the very last second, when she swapped it for the 4 she had previously put with the iron. I also credit her for playing this game "properly," in that she didn't go for the truck price right away and instead tried the whole process-of-elimination route to get there -- even if she did succumb a little to deer-in-the-headlights syndrome to do so.

Looking good so far, especially since we now know the one she had right the first time was the cleaner.

I don't think Cuisinart makes anything that sells for as little as $30, let alone $20. Similarly, a brand like Shark wouldn't have a $60 iron. Can it be...?

I can appreciate Forrest realizing game consoles aren't as expensive as you'd think they are -- but the XBone just came out. It wouldn't be a sub-$600 deal just yet. And then there was the $450 bid for the first prize, too. I predict a long day ahead for our man Forrest, at this rate...

Gas Money:
2014 Mazda2 Sport (1.5L, 4AT, FWD, remote keyless entry; RR)

Well now, here's a real test of our hot streak...

$21,150
$18,685
$17,470
$19,770
$16,355

Interesting to note that, while virtually every playing of this (and Five Price Tags as well) feature potential prices in consecutive increments of thousands, this time we jump straight from a $19K price to a $21K without a $20K in between. I wonder if that's supposed to be a clue to something, or just another daily special from the Richards Red Herring Stand.

I'm not even gonna venture a guess on this one.

A very wise move indeed -- I would've blown it. Well then, that's two playings in a row where the contestant managed to walk away from this thing with a more-than-decent amount of money. Could the tide be turning?

The cleanser surprised me; I thought for sure she'd painted herself into a corner after the gum. If anything on the table looked to be less than two bucks to my eyes, it was the tomato jar. As I always say, though, sometimes it's good to be wrong!

After all the weird bidding today, to see someone nail a perfecto like that is... almost heartening.

Bargain Game:
  1. Trip to Panama City, Panama (6n, InterContinental Playa Bonita Resort & Spa, daily breakfast, guided sightseeing tour; RR)
  2. Trip to Austin, TX (6n, Lakeway Resort & Spa, 2hr Segway tour; DG)

The Distance Rule is difficult to apply to this game, but in this case the two bargain prices are close enough together (only $168 apart) that you can probably get away with it. By that reckoning, Panama City is the one to pick here.
