Now, if I were you, Grant, I'd take the nine grand with a smile on my face. That's way too much to risk on what amounts to a coin-flip; as we saw earlier today, coin-flips can be brutal if they go against you. On the other hand, they can also work for you, but sometimes there's no shame in taking the sure thing, and IMO this is one of those times.

It would be disingenuous to pin this loss on Mike Richards in any way, shape or form. Grant took a risk, and the risk didn't pay off -- that's all. Sucks, but that's life sometimes.

Ann will be spending a little time on the Ohio River, unless something good happens to her in this next segment...

While Ann is taken away to TSA, David plays Balance Game:
Sea-Doo GTS130 personal watercraft w/trailer (LSV)

Balance Game is still winless in Season 42 -- and that's just not acceptable in a year when Temptation, Stacky, and Gas Money have all posted at least one winner. Can we turn it around this time?

Hmm. If this were a Kawasaki or Yamaha, I would insist upon a $9,284 price. For a Sea-Doo, however, $7,284 seems much nearer the mark.

...Clearly, Sea-Doo has seen a bit of a price increase when I wasn't looking... --;

Are we ever going to see this scale balance out again? I'm starting to have my doubts...

  1. I think Balance Game should get retired if it doesn't have a win in TPIR Season 42. But Stack the Deck and Gas Money sure have been heartbreakers...

  2. You'd think Stack The Deck would have been retired by now. I heard millions of hearts breaking today, and that's just from that one game alone. A few million more on Gas Money.

  3. I think its time for new car games that could create new feelings of excitement. all of them original creations of the show.

  4. "Let's Have Both Car-Game Spots Be Killers Today", indeed! >_<

    I was thinking of your other entry, "Why I Hate Stack the Deck", as I was watching this episode, and after THAT dreck of a playing, I'm now convinced that this game needs some kind of revamp! Maybe have four pairs of grocery items instead of three, making the game an automatic win if the contestant plays perfectly as long as they don't ask for the first digit for free? ._.

    That's the problem with SUVs... they're never as expensive as you remember. >_<
    Alexandria must've thought she was playing for a Dodge Durango, not a Dodge Journey! (Of course, Durangoes are WAY more expensive than $23K...)

    What anime is that headdesk image from?

    That's really bizarre that Balance Game 2 has a worse record this season than Balance Game 1 ever had! At least that game was won some of the time! D:

    1. An alternative idea, one which I personally could get behind, would be to give the player one free number of his/her choice right out of the gate, then the game proceeds normally from there. The threat of an "automatic" win might scare some people away from it, but I would argue that the scarcity of playings where all three GP pairs are correct counterbalances that threat rather nicely -- and it would make the game a darn sight more fair to the contestant besides.

      The image is from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (A Certain Scientific Railgun).
