I don't have a good feeling about this... Think $50 for the brush and $32 for the toaster, but the rest is a roll of the dice.

It could even be the Maserati. I legitimately don't even have a guess, one way or the other.

Try #2:

...doesn't even happen! Instead, Molly invokes the long-forgotten rule that you don't have to take your second chance if you don't want to, if you think you have the car. I don't think I've seen a contestant take that option since the Tom Kennedy syndie about a million years ago.

Here's hoping...

NOT TODAY, BOSS

A graphic illustration of why it's a bad idea to not take your second chance. Even if you think you have the car right, there's no law saying you have to change it if you think you got it right the first time (even if the odds aren't in your favor).

We still have two more chances to make good on this gimmick, however. I'm not ready to give up yet.

Unfortunately, what's easy for me isn't always so for the person on stage, who likely doesn't (and cannot, given the circumstances) pay as close attention as someone watching from the comfort of home can.

Well, on the plus side, Leftover Island remains barren this week.

Pick-a-Pair:
Nexera home office furniture, Apple 27” iMac computer (8GB RAM, 1TB HD, HP printer), pair of Apple iPad Airs (16GB each), & work chair ($5,243; KM)

Ah, a nice easy game just when we need it... at least in theory.

  • IcyHOT advanced pain relief cream
  • Pledge furniture polish (9.7 oz)
  • Neutrogena kids' sunscreen (SPF 70+, 5 oz)
  • Allegra allergy relief tablets (15)
  • Milk-Bone small dog treats (24 oz)
  • York peppermint patties (19.75 oz)

Tough mix to draw, but I'm gonna go with the furniture polish and the candy. A winning combination if ever there was one. ^^;

WE'RE IN TROUBLE
What was $6.99? The pain relief. Which means I would've been wrong too.

And we still have our “normal” car game remaining. We're definitely in trouble now.

The skunk has been sighted on the monitors at the TVC security post... be on the alert!

And darn it, the Ghoulardi fans didn't get called. Ah well...

Not a Dream Car, but look at these prices:
$25,390
$27,685
$30,550
$28,759
$26,535

No matter what it turns out to be, and I'm stumped on my end too, that's a really nice “normal” car.

I suppose if I had to play this, I'd think the pink slip was the $27K price and avoid it.

Okay... now you definitely should stop if there's even the tiniest fraction of a hint of doubt in your mind. Nine grand is not only good money, it's better than any of our non-car games today had on offer for winners. Are you really prepared to risk that, not to mention a skunking, on a coin flip?

That's the one I singled out to avoid from the start. I've got a sinking feeling.

On the other hand, the last time we were in this situation I thought it was wrong too, and it ended up working out. And that was a Dream Car win too, now that I think about it (on the Best of 2013 show).

Fingers crossed...

  1. 6-DIGIT SWITCHEROO!?! Didn't see THAT coming! O_o

I'm kinda-sorta holding out hope for a 6-digit Money Game, with the cards each having three digits on them instead of two! ^^

    1. Either that or break the car up into three 2-digit pieces, a la Trois Tiers from the original Juste Prix.

    2. Too complex. 6-digit Money Game using the first 3 numbers and the last 3 numbers is more fair (and it also adds up to more money).

I'd prefer to see 6-digit Money Game during Big Money Week.

  2. Glad you do these recaps. I missed the first couple of games today (don't have a DVR), so when I went to the CBS website to watch, the most recent episode was from 9/26. Yesterday, they had the 10/14 episode up.
