Hard to say which way this can go. Alaskan cruises can be notoriously cheap, but they can also be deceptively pricey. Flip a coin, you'd have almost as much luck.

It's Dream Car time once again, with One Away and the Mighty Sound Effects Lady™ standing between Vanessa and this:
2014 Tesla Model S (AC induction motor, 60kWh battery pack, onboard nav, multi-coat exterior, all-glass panoramic roof, leather seats, parking sensor, smart air suspension; KM)

I just had a scary thought—this could be one of the few times we ever see someone fail to get even a single digit correct on the first try. Let's cross our fingers...

My prediction: $57,320. (Since the last time we saw a Tesla around here, it was in that approximate price range unless my memory's totally shot, and it probably is.)

Yeah... that first digit is not filling me with a whole lot of confidence.

1 right? HONK

Well, at least we dodged that bullet...

2 right? HONK
3 right? HONK
4 right? ...No.

My pick is still possible, so those are the numbers I'm changing. Hopefully Vanessa at least comes to her senses on that leading 7.

And she doesn't.

This is gonna sting, isn't it.

That huge explosion you just heard was my sigh of relief. I was scared to death there.

Pretty sure, then, she was right to change the second 7, since if there's ever any doubt you should always avoid doubling consecutive digits like that.

QED.

Now all we need is to see a red 3, and she's got a Tesla...

...a blue 5, however, will sink our hopes like the Titanic...

...or perhaps the Andrea Doria...

...or maybe the Lustitania...

...or any other seafaring disaster you can name...

...and the verdict is...

DREAM CAR WIN!!!

As far as I'm concerned, this makes up for yesterday. That was the win we needed to snap us out of it!

It almost feels like nothing else that happens today can possibly bring us down after that win! But we've still four games to go, including another car game... and I do like me some icing on my cake...

Cliff Hangers:

Now, see, it's okay when Drew does the "new thing" bit on a game that's probably older than the contestant playing it. ;^)

(Rachel found this stuff in Hans's base camp)
  • Conair steam facial sauna
  • Acu-Rite portable barbecue thermometer & timer
  • Melita stainless steel electric kettle

That must be some base camp...

Threshold: 21

Why'd he have to go down on his second bid?

This may be the first time since I started doing these that Cliff Hangers actually registers a losing record on my score sheet, not counting season-opening losses that are immediately made up for. That's not something to be proud of for a game that's usually one of if not the easiest wins in the rotation.

It's even more painful than it looks. Vanessa's first, disallowed spin was 75, which would've tied and led to a Spin-Off.

Poor Vanessa. She'll just have to settle for a Tesla...

Well then. The only possible way for Sarah to lose this car is for it to be a $26K model. And I very much doubt that it is. In other words, the guys in Accounting had better get a second pink slip ready today...

And we're back tomorrow to put a bow on this stunt...

  1. Trust me, I was just as shocked as you were at that reveal in Most Expensive. I guess we can no longer assume that everything at Plessers is cheap after that.
