OBVIOUSLY, NO

She just didn't have time to put everything where it belonged. I think the GP table was a bit farther away from the play area this time too, and that could've made a difference. Gotta be careful with that.

In any event, let's see how much, if anything, she can save from that twenty grand...

Not only was that a somewhat evil setup (Pain reliever in the medium-sized bin?), but Shannon's constant checking with the audience didn't help matters in the slightest bit. Even the extra step or two between the table/button and the bins could've been overcome if she hadn't pulled so many deer-in-the-headlights moments. Not pretty. 8^/

...Michael, just go home.  Nobody wants to hear from you.  Least of all me.  I already know what you'll say anyway—"I will declare every game on this show a technical win because I'm changing the format of the show to where everyone automatically wins their game if everyone loses.  I WANT THIS CHANGED NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  There, I saved you the trouble.  See what I have to deal with, folks?

Sorry for taking shots, but after the day I've had trying to get this done, my usually-close-to-infinite patience is at a low ebb.  I almost feel entitled to be grumpy.  It's not like I make a habit of it anyway... I'm just venting steam.  Nothing personal.

It can only get better tomorrow.

    1. In retrospect, you're probably right. That was the result of a terrible mood I was in yesterday, brought on by extreme lack of sleep, among other things. A missive from someone delusional enough to believe he "owns" Price was quite literally the last thing I needed to see, even if only in my moderation queue so I could delete it, and I let that frustration boil over. Probably shouldn't have done that.

It was plain as day in the analog TV days, too. Here's an episode I recapped from Season 30 in which I was able to make out the outlines of the digits!

...Duuuuuude. What happened to our season?
A Porsche Cayenne and a Tesla Model S win happened, that's what!

Not really. Is this about a Game Show Paradise forum troll?

    1. A troll, yes, but not one exclusive to GSP (in fact he's been banned from there for months). Michael Taylor has made a pest of himself throughout fandom, from G-R.net to GSP to the old GSN boards to various blogs, and most of his correspondence follows a familiar pattern: Whenever there's a winless show or a DOB, he chimes in with a message wherein he "declares" this or that a "technical win" because of one bizarre reason or another, sometimes going so far as to suggest he's going to "change the format" to where there are nine Pricing Games and three Showcases on each show just to avoid ever having a winless show or DOB again. When replied to sensibly, he almost invariably engages the Cruise Control for Cool℠ and throws around exclamation points like confetti, suggesting "I WANT THIS CHANGED NOW!!!!!!!" ad absurdium. In this way he has proven himself immune to all known forms of reason and common sense.

I have no idea if he's just being a troll, or if he actually believes himself to be the "owner" of The Price is Right. If the former, he's just another Internet irritant. If the latter... then all I can do is hope he gets the mental help he obviously desperately needs.

    2. Besides, 3 Showcases per show will only make it even worse (totally confusing, and still no guarantee of a Double (or Triple, in this ridiculous case) Overbid).

Plus, extending the show to 90 minutes for more Pricing Games will NOT guarantee avoiding a winless show.

      Delete
  3. Devin, I WILL declare Time is Money a technical win because of the skunking for Tuesday. For today's (Wednesday) episode, Matthew's Showcase result is a technical win because HE made the smaller overbid than Gloria.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Published only as a representative example.

I must ask you, why do you insist on doing this?

      Delete
  4. Because of my new rules, if all six pricing games are lost then one of them is declared a technical win which was Time is Money. If both contestants go over, then the smaller overbid results in a technical win which was Joshua in today's episode.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I am aware of your "rules." My question is, why do you have rules? As far as I know you don't even report on the show the way I and others do, so what's your authority?

(To others: This is my "give them enough rope to hang themselves with" phase.)

      Delete
    2. If he wants to report on the show his way, then let him. Not everyone will got the traditional way. Jut give him a break and leave him alone for God's sake.

      Delete
    3. That's just the thing, though. As far as I know, he's not "reporting on the show," his way or anyone else's. Unless I'm missing something, of course, which I confess isn't impossible.

Besides, by that rule, don't I have that right too? Or do you have a different set of rules for me? This could be a most fascinating answer.

      Delete
    4. Of course you have the right too.And he IS doing it his way. Just leave him alone.

      Delete
  5. Excuse me, Devin, it was Matthew who won the Showcase. Anyway, I have decided to take out the "without going over" part of Showcase bidding because I can no longer accept double overbids.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Do you think anybody actually likes them? Unfortunately it's part of the game. Not everything is going to have a happy ending. It's okay, though. It's just part of life. Are you saying you cannot accept life?

If you can't, I might suggest seeking some sort of professional help, because that's... not healthy.

      Delete
  6. I think this show should just have nine pricing games and three Showcases. What would that do? Produce more winners? Avoid a DOB?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Assuming you're actually asking a question, it would do precisely none of these things. All it would do is make the show longer, which is just silly talk.

And now you see what I have to deal with, folks. Is it any wonder I lose my patience?
