  2. Polaris Outlaw 90 ATV (AL)
  3. LG large-capacity washer & dryer (RR)
  4. Cole Haan designer shoes & handbag (RR)

My graphical template for this game is badly broken at the moment, I only just discovered as I went to use it. So we'll do this the old-fashioned way today:

With a DP of $1,550, the accessories stick out like Nikes worn with a tux. Smart money is to avoid that one, from where I sit.

Danger Price: $1550
Washer & dryer
$3400
All terrain vehicle
$2699
Computer
$1550
LOSS
(Accessories: $904)

Hmm... I might actually like this better. Not the result, obviously, just the layout. Definitely makes things go a bit faster. As for the computer-vs-shoes argument, my brain had those numbers (or one close to it, in the case of $904) reversed from where they actually were. Rough start.

Interesting to note here that if he gets the back of the car on his last call (it's clearly either 60 or 52), he'll have totally maxed out.

Granted, it's not completely unheard of for the season-number Easter egg to be the correct call—it's happened a small handful of times since they started this gag back around Season 35—but doubled digits in car prices are so rare these days they should be discounted if there's at all any doubt. And there was plenty of doubt to go around here.

Rule of thumb, amigos, for Money Game and really any other car game of the "pick a number" variety: Try to visualize in your head what the car price will look like when you make a call like this. It's not just a guessing game. If the resultant price makes you go "Waaaaaait a sec... that doesn't look right," it's generally a good idea to think of something else. And, as always, don't let them (points to the audience) play your game for you.

$2,000

[Reminder: In my scoring system, getting at least $2,000 is good for a one-point "partial win" (and, oh, how I'm beginning to hate that term, but I can't come up with anything better) even if no chips go into the big-money slot.]

Hard to say if Plinko's in the midst of a hot or a cold streak; it seems to be straddling the line lately.

That price doesn't look half bad, but I've said that before too. It basically boils down to hard-mode Pick-a-Number; is it $21,530, $21,570, or $21,590? The 7 would've been my own pick, as it happens.

Crossing everything that can be crossed...

SO MUCH FOR THAT

Our .500 season mark is done in by an unrepentantly evil game and an indefensible decision by the player. If only she hadn't asked for the first digit!  >_<

It's Ilda's last chance, but she does have the advantage...

  1. When Cindy picked the 1st slot in Stack the Deck, I too was left scratching my head. But that did avert another tough decision from taking place: is the car in the teens or 20s? All told, that was a clear case of "damned if you do, damned if you don't."

  2. In case you are reading a comment from me for the first time, our dear blogger and I share a mutual disdain (borderling on straight-up hate) for Stack The Deck. I've even said before today's playing that Stack The Deck, "brings nothing but heartbreak and disappointment." Today was proof positive of that. I've seen more close calls on recent playings there was no way I couldn't speak the way I have about it. Stack The Deck is the bain of Price's 42+ seasons on TV.

  3. If it's any consolation, Drew doesn't really like "Stack the Deck" either.
