TPiRecap: 26 November 2014 (Thanksgiving Special)

And here we go with the last first-run show this week. Remember, Price is completely pre-empted tomorrow, and Friday will be a repeat. Also, there'll be no stats post later today; that will come on Monday, following next week's only first-run episode, which for statkeeping purposes I'm considering part of this week.

Let's do this...

Thanksgiving Special

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day in America (hence why we're calling it a week on a Wednesday), and our buddies at Beverly and Fairfax are cooking up a special themed episode for us today. Expect lots of prizes and maybe a Showcase or two that'll get you in the mood to devour that bird (and all its trimmings) tomorrow, if that's your wont.

Got too crossed up on the watch, and she didn't have enough time left to fully recover. And thus does this unbeaten fall.

On another note, is the $1,000 bonus still a thing in this game? I haven't heard definitively one way or the other, and until I do my records continue to show it. If not, I'll adjust season numbers accordingly.

To those who have asked, a reminder: If you see a red asterisk (*) before the number on someone's spin, it indicates a spin that didn't go all the way around and had to be redone.

It's shaping up to be one of those days for the Leftover Island shuttle; after several shows without banishment, we're certainly on pace to have at least one and possibly more than one passenger on that flight. Maybe we can turn that around now?

Bull outdoor kitchen island & groceries for 1 year (52 wks; $9,149; RR)

Because what day-before-Thanksgiving show would be complete without some reminders to pick up a few things you may have forgotten in your last Kroger run. Stuff like...

  • Princella cut sweet potatoes (because Bruce wanted too much money for a plug; 29 oz)
  • French's French-fried onions (2.8 oz)
  • Hershey's Miniatures mini-candy bars (12 oz)
  • Ocean Spray whole-berry cranberry sauce (14 oz)
  • Tums Smoothies antacid tablets (60)

That last one might be extremely necessary, especially in my household... ;^P

Nice and easy, and not a bad haul for this game either! (Usually you're lucky if you get a total of six grand out of a win here.)

We now know that at least one seat is reserved on the Leftover Island shuttle for either Daniel or Jimmy. It could even be both, but one of them still has a chance to escape it. And while it would seem Daniel has the advantage, he's had that numerous times today so far and failed to capitalize on it... for his sake, I hope he can this time.

Argh. Not so stellar in the winnings department today, and a total of three unbeaten games falling to defeat.  (Granted, one of the three, Check-Out, did so on only its second playing of the year.) Still, maybe there's a decent Showcase win waiting for us?

Removing from the table any possibility of a DOB, which is good...

Before the big reveal, Drew reveals what he's most thankful for—the audience that shows up full of energy on every taping day to make Price what it is. This, of course, is a lead-in to today's special gift to everyone in the Peanut Gallery: a Butterball turkey fryer, complete with turkey (RR, AL)—need I mention that you can win one yourself? (It obviously won't get there in time for Thanksgiving tomorrow, but Christmas is an outside possibliity...)
