Why do they do that? Why?

Marc, meanwhile, is from "Exit 62" on Long Island. Presuming he means the LIE, that's not too far from where I was born; that puts him around Lake Ronkonkoma, Farmingville, or North Patchogue, and I was born in Port Jefferson. I still have family that lives around there, too. Suffolk County represent!

More or Less:
  1. Schwinn 470 elliptical trainer (RR)
  2. RCS 36" propane barbecue (GOS)
  3. Cybertron 17.3" gaming-oriented laptop computer (16GB RAM, 1TB HD, 2.6GHz quad-core, Epson printer; GOS)
  4. 2014 Nissan Cube S (1.8L, AT, FWD, splash guards; RR)

Somebody needs to tell George that, although Brooklyn is technically part of Long Island (it's on that landmass), not all Long Islanders sound like Brooklynites. Fuhgeddaboudit!

I don't think anyone actually believed otherwise, but Drew does clarify it anyway so I'll do the same: In situations like that, where the score is still tied after a Bonus Spin-Off, there is no additional money to be won in the second try even if someone does land on the dollar.

If I was leaning towards anything to take out in that mess, it would've been the 1—but I wouldn't have been willing to bet the old homestead on it, either. Ouch.

Let's hope Melissa's gotten all the WTF bids out of her system now...

Well, at least someone finally got in Melissa's ear and suggested she was only hurting herself with those one-dollar-under bids. Progress!

Double Cross:
  1. Samsung 60" 3D LED Smart HDTV w/4 pairs of glasses & extra universal remote (RR)
  2. Kate Spade designer leather accessories (GOS)

The extra added universal remote with the TV does rather mess with the price involved... $3,418 becomes plausible under these conditions. I'd probably go with that.

The secret to this game, as always, is to focus on one prize and try to find the only remotely logical price for that one. Don't even worry about the other; if you do it right, the other price literally tends to itself. ^^;

Switcheroo:
2014 Volkswagen Beetle (1.8L turbo, 6AT, Bluetooth, heatable front seats, paint/fabric prot; GOS)

Oh dear. At least Drew's trying to get Adam in the right frame of mind, though; he suggests to him the "correct" strategy of using the small prizes to eliminate numbers from possibly being in the car price. Let's see if it helps.

(Rachel's standing by the Armoire of Awfulness)
  • Mony aromatherapy oil diffuser

I would say $16 for the infuser, $22 for the toaster, $43 for the mixer, and $75 for the diffuser. Through that process of elimination, that leaves 3 for the car, which is a doubled digit ($22,933) but in this case, it could work.

  1. UGH... The dumbasses sure are out in full force this week, aren't they? That's gotta be the worst bidding in the Row I've ever seen since that guy who bid $2,000,000 on something!

What happened, contestant coordinators??? You were improving so much from those bad old days of Seasons 38-40! D:

  2. I'm convinced the producers, directors, etc. purposely weed out the smart contestants, especially after today's shenanigans on contestant's row. That was abysmal. I'd go as far as calling it the worst I've ever seen.

  3. We still have one more day to go before we start 2015 and hopefully better bidding.

    1. You spoke too soon. Today's show, the first item up for bids. That's all I'll say. Contestants never learn, do they?
