This is my second attempt at this episode; LibreOffice crashed pretty hard on me after I'd finished game #5 before. Hopefully that's got it out of its system, however... and so...

When I originally played along, I had pickles in the $2.99 bag and the Febreze in $4.69, but the first three were correct. Why are pickles always more expensive than I remember them being... grumble grumble...

I think even Drew's getting a bit weary of everyone always calling for fives in this game, even when it's not necessarily a good move. Honestly, it's only really strategic if you have a whole lot of money left to play with—say, at least three dollars—by the time you get to the last digit. Unfortunately, people seem to have become fixated on the idea that "the middle" is always a good place to be regardless of the situation.

Oh well... on the plus side, it seems like we've stopped getting contestants who call zeroes. (Yeah, just watch now, with my luck...)

  1. Honda CRF-125FB offroad motorcycle (GOS)
  2. KitchenAid dual-oven gas range (RR)
  3. The cause of George Gray's death Avanti Fitness AT380 treadmill (aspirin not included; GG)

George was walking backwards on the treadmill during the reveal... something I'm sure he regrets now, because as soon as a Local 33 guy hands him his copy, he promptly takes a pratfall right off the thing! To his credit, he doesn't miss a single beat despite delivering the first part of the discriptions on his back. Drew, of course, cracks up... "That's a pro, right there buddy!"

Ah, poor George, he may never live this one down... ^^;;

Melissa's about to pick #3 until she sees her buddies in the audience holding up two fingers, which inspires her to change to... #1? Yeah, I don't get it either...

Trip to Boston, MA (6n, The Colonnade Hotel, South End food tour; GOS)

I'm thinking $6,891 here.

(RR does the heavy lifting around here)

Reminder: Just because a trip doesn't take you outside the US of A, doesn't necessarily mean it's dirt cheap either. When in doubt, you should always assume that any single stage prize is worth at least six grand, unless the game you're playing doesn't give you that option (such as if you're presented with a Golden Road Jr. in Pick-a-Number where the first digit is 5).

    ...And the crash seems to have eaten the prize Suzanne was playing for! D:

    Unfortunately, people seem to have become fixated on the idea that[, in Lucky Seven,] "the middle" is always a good place to be regardless of the situation.
    Blame Roger Dobkowitz. Back in his days, the middle almost always WAS a good place to be! There used to be a time not too long ago when, 90% of the time, you could blindly guess 5 for every digit and win. There was even a 2005(?) Million Dollar Spectacular where a contestant won a Cadillac XLR this way!
