TPiRecap: 23 January 2015

Wrapping up a hectic week for me personally...

Episode #
6995K
Airdate
23 January 2015
VTR
2 December 2014
First Four
Carol, Jennifer, John, Deanne
Lineup
L-R
Models
Gwendolyn Osbourne-Smith, Rachel Reynolds

...with what appears to be another shuffled airdate, though not as severely as yesterday. As you can see, however, this probably would have been the last 6xxxK episode to air if left to its own devices. Little trivia note there. Anyway, let's see what's doing...

George sounds weird today for some reason... ah, that's what it is. He's lost his voice somewhat... but he's still here. What a trouper.

Kicking it off with that Bear OF a Big Blue House:
  • Liquid-Plumr Slow Flow Fighter drain care
  • Saran Premium plastic wrap (100 ft²)
  • Jiffy golden yellow cake mix
  • Caress Daily Silk body wash (12 fl oz)
  • Scotch-Gard fabric & upholstery protector (10 oz)
  • Oral-B Glide dental floss (38.2 yd)

My Arrangement:
Mailbox: Body wash
1st Floor: Plastic wrap + Cake mix
2nd Floor: Dental floss + Drain care
Attic: Protectant

Cake mix
99¢

$1,000
99¢

Body wash
$4.29
Dental floss
$4.99
$5,000
$9.28
Go on...
Plastic wrap
$3.79
Protectant
$9.99
$10,000
$13.78
Go on... (BIG mistake, IMO)

Drain care
$6.49

$100,000
$6.49
THAT'S BLOWN IT

Solution #1:
Mailbox: Body wash = $4.29
1st Floor: Drain care ($6.49) + Cake mix (99¢) = $7.48
2nd Floor: Dental floss ($4.99) + Plastic wrap ($3.79) = $8.78
Attic: Protectant = $9.99

Solution #2:
Mailbox: Dental floss = $4.99
1st Floor: Drain care ($6.49) + Cake mix (99¢) = $7.48
2nd Floor: Body wash ($4.29) + Plastic wrap ($3.79) = $7.98
Attic: Protectant = $9.99

My Result:
Mailbox: Body wash = $4.29
1st Floor: Plastic wrap ($3.79) + Caxe mix (99¢) = $4.78
2nd Floor: Dental floss ($4.99) + Drain care ($6.49) = $11.48
Attic: Protectant = $9.99

I have no idea what possessed her to keep going. Did she really believe the Liquid-Plumr was twenty bucks or so? (To be fair, however, sometimes it is very pricey stuff. The expensive ones, however, usually include a one-time-use drain snake or some additional tool along those lines, which this bottle didn't have.)

Okay. Time to attack this logically.

7? 8? Throw them right out now. One's going to be the first digit of the watch, and the other the first digit of the BLT-on-the-hoof. This is unavoidable. This leaves the attentive player with three choices for the ones digit of the car, and as you can see, there are only three places for those three digits to possibly go.

In other words, this game just became impossible to lose. For an attentive player, that is.

The question is... is Deanne an attentive player? For that matter, does the audience realize what's going on when they try to influence her? Let us watch in abject frustration and see...

...and that should cinch it. C'mon, Deanne, think about this... is that watch $106? Surely not. And the unwritten rule is that the Piggy Bank shall never contain less than four dollars. That makes the 1 a slam-dunk choice... right?

  1. Why do these players continue to put the cheapest item in the mailbox? If you're really going to go for the $100K, DON'T PUT THE CHEAPEST ITEM IN THE MAILBOX!!!!

    1. To be fair, I'm not certain she even realized the cake mix was the cheapest thing. She probably thought it was the dental floss. I certainly did, much to my chagrin.

  2. Lucky 7 was a different kind of tragedy; zigged when she should've zagged...
Meanwhile, back at Any Number, a few of those neon lights behind that Dodge have been out for who knows how long anymore! Anyone wanna take bets on when they'll finally catch on and mend them?
