TPiRecap: 11 February 2015

Apparently we had a celebrity in our midst yesterday that I totally didn't recognize: Adam, our Showcase winner with $51,832 to his credit, is actually Adam Dutkiewicz, lead guitarist of Killswitch Engage. Thanks to everyone who pointed this out.

Apparently this came as a surprise to even our intrepid host, who had this to say:

Funny thing, life, isn't it?

Moving on...

Okay, stop the game for a moment. Let's analyze.

First of all, forget the zero right now. That's the last digit of the game package, period. In fact, the XBone is probably $740 or $730. The 9, I think, is most likely going to slot into the Piggy Bank, since the highest it could be otherwise is $4.25 and I think that's below the unwritten minimum Mike would put in there. But I could be wrong about that.

From where I sit, the safest number to call here is probably the 1, since we know it won't go in the porker and it cannot complete the XBone. I'm also going to go out on a limb here and suggest 4 for the thousands digit of the car.

But this is what Mindy does...

Bam! Now it's smooth sailing—as long as Mindy stays off the 9 or the 0, she can't lose! But if she picks either of those...

I'll go so far as to suggest $16,872. I would have said $14,872, but we've already had one car in that price range today and I doubt even Mike Richards would do two sub-$15K cars on the same episode.

(MA drew trilon duty today—and has to endure Drew's barrage of Wheel/Vanna references)

NAILED IT!

Finally, a One Away winner! And it feels so good!

I don't want to jinx anything, but can I just say this? So far this week, we've offered a total of seven cars... and all seven of them have been won. When was the last time we could say something like that?

No sirens in the background on this reveal... odd.

$1,498 could fit the bill for the washer/dryer combo (it ends in -98), but it's a bit too low for my taste. I would suspect the camera, if anything.

  1. If you listen very closely during Danger Price, the sirens are there; they're just very quiet and hard to pick out.

  2. Oh, the sirens were present in Danger Price, just muffled a bit.
