THE STREAK IS OVER

I have to admit, of all the games that I figured the car-win streak would end with, Spelling Bee wasn't especially high on the list. This game, though based purely on chance, seems to have a run of good luck every season. Ah well, now that that's over...

  1. ...to New Orleans, LA (6n, InterContinental New Orleans, daily breakfast; RR)
  2. ...to Santa Fe, NM (6n, Old Santa Fe In, museum passes, guided tour, cooking class; MA)

Hard to say... but I'm thinking New Orleans is $5,706 and Santa Fe is $3,240, or thereabouts on both sides of the scale, so I'd pick N'awlins if it were me.

ARRRGH!
:00

He committed the cardinal sin; the 6 paddle fell off between tries, he thought that meant it wouldn't count, and he put the paddle back where it was. >_< That cost him the game. He moves the 7 paddle before he realizes the buzzer went off, so the final reveal looks like this:

...Well, actually it really looks closer to this...

5
7
6

...because David's impromptu furniture-mover act inadvertently unplugged the gameboard. At least the ARP reveal operates on simple gravity.

So now not only does Bonkers! need something better than Velcro™ to keep those paddles attached to the board (all kidding aside, this is quickly approaching epidemic proportions; seems that a paddle falls off at least once every playing anymore), but it apparently needs better caster locks on the prop (or "machine," as Drew calls it) on top of everything else. ^^;;;

You do realize that in past years, games have been retired for less than this, right? Penny Ante, $uper $aver, even Split Decision, I'm looking at you three...

That's two Contestant's Row overbids in one week. That's a rare thing to see these days. A lot of the time, overbid rounds tend to fall victim to the editing scissors when the time comes to prepare the show for broadcast...

Not content with merely ending our streak of consecutive car wins, #7004K now seems bound and determined to make sure we start a streak of consecutive car losses that lasts a while too. >_<

Back to the older-style composite shots for this playing, so we don't even get the snazzy new look...

WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?

I blame myself. I'm the one who called up the fact we'd given eight cars away so far this week. If that's not putting the Whammy on it I don't know what is...

...Oh, get outta here, we're depressed enough. Go eat a Flokati rug or something. >_>

And after a week devoid of passengers on the dreaded Leftover Island Express, now Ryan and Valerie could be occupying two seats. However, one of them can still escape their fate, and the advantage is Valeries...

  1. About Bonkers, I feel like Drew should start explaining at the top that if a paddle falls down it still counts, at least until they make 'em stick better. Might lead to less incidents like today's playing.
