TPiRecap: 16 February 2015 (#UDecide Week #1)

#UDecide Week #1

Time once again for one of those patened "gimmick" sorts of weeks Price likes to present every now and then: It's #UDecide Week!

An outgrowth of something that was done during last year's Social Media Awareness stunt, all this week there will be elements that were determined as the result of a Twitter poll. It could be a game, it could be a prize, it could be... well, just about anything really. Only way to find out is to stay tuned and see what you, the great unwashed masses of your local Intarwebz, have helped the show come up with this time.

Let's see what happens...

Anthony will be the beneficiary of the week's first #UDecide moment. On Twitter, @PriceIsRight asked its followers if the game for this next spot should be #GrandGame or #RatRace—and The Rodents Won:

...but, wait! Haven't we already played our car game for this half of the show? (The correct answer is, "No, we haven't, because that wasn't playing Money Game!" However, technically, Money Game counts as a car game, of which the format only allows us one per half.) So... if not a car, what then?

Remember a little gimmick we did earlier this season, where Rat Race was played for $100,000? That's kinda what we're doing here, although in fairness, the money isn't as big as it was back in Big Money Week—but still more than substantial:
Win: $75,000
Place: $15,000
Show: $10,000

...for a total of one hundred G's for the trifecta. (Because the lowest amount available is ten grand, I'm counting this playing as a "win" if any of Anthony's rats finishes in the money. It wouldn't feel right to do anything else.)

And so...

(#UDecide gave fans a choice of clips to show on the TV during this spot—either Eliot's fish-flop performance at the Big Wheel earlier this year, or the clip that did win, the instant-classic blooper of George falling off a treadmill during Most Expen$ive a few months back!)

I'm thinking... $1,395 for the barbecue, $710 for the computer, and $3,099 for the ATV. That leaves $2,289 for the accessories, and while Tory Burch isn't the most expensive label the show offers (it's no Gucci or Christian Loubouton), it's certainly not the relatively cheapo Kate Spade or Michael Kors. (See, I am picking up on which labels are more desirable—and thus pricier—than others. Not letting that pesky Y chromosome get in the way of my study of these games and their recurring prizes...)

Last chance for Jacob to hop off the Leftover Island Express... and while I'd normally point out that he has the advantage, we've seen how well that's availed him so far today, so everything's up for grabs right now...

Meanwhile, something that may have been the case for a long time now, but I'm only just noticing it now for the first time: The EXIT signs in the back of the studio are now pricetag-shaped and even decorated with little ✽s. Attention to detail; it's almost a lost art. ^^;

A previous generation might refer to Rhonda's present position as the "catbird seat." She's down to the wire with only two options for the last digit, and still has one do-over remaining—a relatively easy one at that. This is looking decidedly rosy.

This is, like, the inverse of what happened with Money Game earlier in the show...

  2. "Pathfinder" in the same show with "Rat Race? What, did "Pass the Buck" or "Stack the Deck" break down, and they needed this to replace it? I don't know, but either way, with this getting its first of the season, now there's only six games left to be won this season.
