TPiRecap: 20 February 2015 (#UDecide Week #5)

There were words here originally.  They are no more.  Their purpose has been served, their job is done.  There is no further need for them to remain here.  If you remember them, they have requested you keep their memory to yourself.

If you don't know what this refers to, trust me—it's better that way.

Obviously we can rule out the 4... I'm actually going to say 9. $6,800 I might buy for two TVs, but not three—particularly when one of them is a 4K.

#UDecide time! Twitter was asked what super-luxury car should be up for grabs in Card Game, and here's what they chose:
2015 Porsche Macan S (3L, 7AT, leather int, rear fascia painting, window trim, side blades, Porshe active suspension mgmt, 20" RS spider-design wheels, the works; RR)

The other option, incidentally, was a Range Rover. There was no wrong choice here. ^^;

One-Time Rule Change: Obviously, we're going to need a suitably high starting bid here, or we'll be drawing cards all day. So instead of $15,000, Jacqueline's starting at 60 grand.

I KNEW IT

Yep... exactly what I was afraid of. People hear "Porsche" and automatically freak out on the price, but in truth they're cheapies compared to many of the other cars in the luxury class—at least the ones this show offers. As Dream Cars go, this one rates a short little daydream during lunch period. Still, ouch. If she'd only shaved ten grand off that Ace...

I'm having a bit of trouble with my graphics program, so this'll have to be the old-fashioned way this time, with tables:

A fine week by any standard, really, even with a few disappointments along the way... but then, can the same not be said of life itself?

  1. Funny thing is I'm listening to a song that would fit your (honestly brave and well-needed) rant perfectly: Sucks To Be You by Prozzak.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Please don't take this comment the wrong way, but that rant was unneeded and unnecessary. All I want is commentary on the games, not on some mentally ill troll. Thought you were better than that. All you did was feed the guy. Why do you gotta do that? No, just no. Again, I never thought I'd see you stoop to this level.

    1. Sometimes something just needs to be said, even if it is to some lowlife troll.
      Good for you, Devin.

    2. Brandon, I appreciate the support, but GSL is correct. I shouldn't have done that. I did the one thing one should never do with a troll... I fed the SOB.

I've gone ahead and deleted the rant. I got it all out of my system anyway. From Monday, things return to normal around here.

  3. Just so it's clear: I don't feel bad about, or take back, one single word of what I said in the Rant That Is No More. I merely regret that I subjected so many of my readers to a lengthy, foul-mouthed diatribe that they may or may not have wanted to read.

The rant has served its purpose, and it has been seen by the people who needed to see it, for good and for ill. There was literally no further need for it except to draw undue attention, so away it went. I can only hope I never find myself in a position like that again, where I feel I have no choice but to hop right into the mud and wrestle that damned pig.

We all make choices. I made the wrong one, but that's okay. We're all human here, we all make mistakes every now and then. But defending my friends is NEVER a mistake, just so that's totally clear.

    1. That was supposed to be a clickable link. I don't know what happened there. But WTIC is a classic radio station from my old hometown (Hartford, CT) located at 1080 AM on the dial, and the link would have gone to a website devoted to its history and heritage.
