Fashion Week #2

Apropos of nothing, but the addition of the runway really does make the studio look a lot different, even though it's really only a very minor difference. In any event, let's take it to Nancy O'Dell for today's fashion show...

You thought Johannes was done for the day? Nope, apparently during Fashion Week he also models alternate clothing for Cover Up gag purposes. Outfits include hoodie-and-jeans, "beach bum," and the baby-blue tux we saw him sport during the Valentine's Day show a few weeks back, along with the classic look.

As for my prediction... $21,920 seems to pop right out at me, but I don't feel very confident in that. Well, beyond the $21- part.

And I groan, because the first two digits were so obviously 21- that the Cover Up Strategy™ would have worked beautifully here. But now it's basically a lottery, and that rarely pans out well.

Balance Game:
Trip to Aspen, CO (5n, The Gant Aspen, 2 1-day lift tickets; MA)

It's gonna be either $5,153 or $7,153, and I feel as if $7,153 is a bit too much for LA-to-Aspen for five nights. But then again, these are also deluxe "condominium" accomodations, so maybe that makes up the difference? Basically it's a flip of the ol' Drew Dollar on this one, and as long as she doesn't lowball it with the $4K option she has a legitimate shot at it.

(Rachel does the heavy lifting)
Zagged when she should've zigged. That never feels good.

THEN AGAIN, MAYBE NOT!
(Nothing else revealed)

Someone will have to check the record books for the last time this happened, but it certainly doesn't happen too often—someone hits up Pass the Buck perfectly, winning both the car (or truck, in this case) and the maximum possible amount of money to go with it, $8,000. Even Drew says it's been "a long, long time."

Well, we are most definitely making up for yesterday's less-than-stellar showing, aren't we?

...um, Drew honey, you have to hit the button. This isn't Freeze Frame or Range Game. ;^)

It takes Drew a few seconds to realize his mistake. His reaction is classic: He pulls out the 5 to ask "What's wrong with you?!" to the Local 33 guy behind the prop, and then all the number tiles fall out of alignment. Gag reel material for sure. XD

In any event, once we finally get things squared away...

Showcases: Anne (true) top winner, Dion (true) runner-up. Both have had dramatic car wins today, so even if by some cruel twist of fate we are cursed by a DOB today, neither of them deserve to be called "losers."

  1. Another possible thing to consult the record books for: Cliffhanger thresholds. It was just $1 today!
Anyone know the lowest it's ever been?

    1. I'm actually fairly sure there was at least one instance during the mid/late '90s where going $20-$30-$40 would have been a perfect win, with not even a single step taken. Someone with a better memory or access to better records than I will have to confirm that however.
