TPiRecap: 23 March 2015

And with that, the last significant extended interruption in Price service for Season 43 is over and, barring any CBS News break-ins or other emergency episode substitutions, we should be free and clear from now to the end of the season... still about three months away or so, but the Priceless Summer™ is beginning to show up on our outer radar.

I wasn't comfortable about Kate Spade accessories being a More either, until I noticed the ARP pattern. There almost had to be a price in the $2K range in this setup, and since one hadn't turned up yet, it had to be that one.

And so to the car...

Sometimes, the cynical part of me wonders if the stage player is even needed for some of these games. They always seem so willing to let the audience play the game for them, as if they're simply the Peanut Gallery's puppet (or that of their friends/family). But as recent history demonstrates, their batting average lately hasn't been particularly great. 8^/

  1. Well, considering where the 23 was, it could've been a Front 'n' Back trick. But yeah, the day the Season # actually works in Money Game is the day I bowl a perfect 300.

    1. In the interests of full disclosure, the season-number Easter egg has been the one to call on a very small handful of occasions. On average, a little less than once per season since they started doing it. However, it's more likely to be the correct number to call when the season number ends with one of the more common car endings (0, 2, 5, 9). That just makes -43 even more inexplicable.

  2. The Samsung Triangle of Terror (RR) ...made in South Korea...
Are you sure of that? Samsung IS a South Korean company, but that kitchen stuff could very well have been built in the U.S.!

In fact, that's kinda why I was hoping the second Showcase would end with a Toyota or Honda. That's one of the former's selling points ("Most Toyotas sold in America are built in America!"), and when TPIR relaxed its foreign car ban in 2008 to allow for Hondas, Rich Fields took great pains to point out that they were from "American Honda Motor Company".

Plus, there's always the ironic angle. ^^
