TPiRecap: 13 April 2015 (Couples Week #1... and why there will be no #2 from me)

Okay, so... here's the deal. My DVR did not record today's episode for whatever reason, so you're going to have to rely on others' recaps for that one in case you missed anything. However, my DVR did still have yesterday's show on it, the one I had to miss out on for personal reasons (that are irrelevant to the present discussion, except to bemoan how sometimes Real Life can be both messy and unpleasant).

So what I'll do now is, I'll tackle yesterday's show right now, write today's off as lost (though its numbers will still be added to my spreadsheet for datakeeping purposes), and then tomorrow afternoon things should be back to whatever passes for "normal" around here.

Apologies for the confusion, but it's been crazy here lately. And so...

Couples Week #1: "First Date"

Yep, it's Couples Week on Price. All week long, the shows will consist of couples playing the games... what kind of couples, you may ask? Well, that's part of the fun; it's a different theme each day.

This first one requires a bit of a setup, so before we even get to George's opening spiel, Drew's back behind Door #2 to explain what's going on. (Incidentally, for you prop fans, likenesses of Hans and the Rat Race mascot are plastered to the back of the sliding door...) The gimmick is this: There are no actual couples in today's Peanut Gallery, they're all single people. The show has teamed up with dating site Match.com and will be calling randomly-paired couples down to Contestant's Row for what Drew calls "the ultimate blind date"; nobody has any idea, until the names are called, who their "date" for the show will be.

Should be interesting, at least... let's see what comes of this.

(Note that for this episode, and for every episode this week, couples will be listed in the order in which George says their names.)

Do the Math—for two cars!:

  2. 2015 Toyota Yaris L (1.5L, 4AT, FWD, carpeted mats, carpeted cargo mat, nav pkg, paint/fabric prot; RR)
I'm thinking the Fiat to be the pricier of the two even though it's stock, so I'd be thinking subtraction here.

Heidi & Michael agree...
hen again, all those extras on the Yaris probably should've been a clue in and of themselves. 8^/

And I had like zero hope of this being won! That's amazing.

Brittney & Michael are on the verge of having their first date be on Leftover Island, which probably isn't going to end too well... however, they can still redirect themselves to a much more scenic locale, and all they need to do is realize being able to bid last puts them at an advantage. (Seriously, not many people realize this, not even after repeated exhortations by sites such as this very one that it is so.) Let's watch...
