Well, what do you know? My gut was right.

Of course, it's an unenviable task for the last digit now... the two most attractive car-ending digits, traditionally. Flip a coin and take your pick. Choose well and you're the savior, choose poorly and... well, you know.

Fingers crossed...

I don't think I Kane handle much more of this madness. Truly, I don't. Start hoping for at least some small redemption in the Showdown and the Showcases, 'cause that's all we have left at this point.

  1. I know this has nothing to do with today's TPIR, which was an unfortunate episode, but I tried that "Shut Up" app you recommended on the Game Show Kingdom's comment section, and to be perfectly honest, I think it's a bit excessive. I mean, I have to manually "unblock" every website with comments that I go to, which is quite a number, and it's only the Game Show Kingdom blog that I have issues with the comments section, and that's because mcbriderb is, quite frankly, too foolish to not have comment moderation, because it ruins an otherwise fine blog.

    1. I confess it's an imperfect solution, but for Chrome users it is unfortunately the best option available. The Firefox equivalent, CommentBlocker, does in fact work on a site-by-site basis and allows you to pick and choose which sites you still want to see comments on. The only other comment-blocking plugin for Chrome that I know of is a badly deprecated one from about five years ago that no longer works on most sites I've tried it on.

  2. on this episode, one of the contestants did the highest bid + 1 and Drew actually groaned into the microphone. Round 3 I think, didn't go back to check but it stuck in my mind watching it live. I rarely complain about Drew, but really think this is bad form.

This has been a strategy for something like 40 years and it only works something like 50% of the time, so let them do it. otherwise they would've changed the rules. the rest of the time, the person who is being outbid either overbid, or something else happens. it's part of the advantage of going last, by design and I don't understand all the recent sorrow on TPIR about bidding +$1.
