TPiRecap: 6 May 2015

I want to thank everyone for the great responses I've gotten for the past two, ah, "special" recaps I've done... but I give you my word, today's post will be done "straight," with no Star Wars references or Spanish phraseology (based on suprisingly poorly-remembered college courses). And hopefully we won't have any... awkwardness like we saw yesterday, between $12,000 bids on electric fireplaces, 10 Chances playings gone to hell, and of course that now-viral playing of 1 Right Price we all know about by now (the one with the treadmill).

Let's make the magic happen...

Bargain Game for the second time this week:
  1. Trip to Hilton Head, SC (6n, The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa, daily breakfast; MO)
  2. Trip to Portland, OR (6n, daily breakfast; GOS)

You've got to think Portland is the bigger bargain here... even if it's a cheapo trip at $4,215, that's still two grand more than the posted price. Meanwhile, Hilton Head can't be more than six grand, tops, which would put it at about $1,500 above what we see.

See? Sometimes the Distance Rule can apply in this game... but, let's see how it plays out.

To be fair, the R is the hardest letter to find on the board, so once we learned she had that going on was actually the smart thing to do. If that second card had been an A, it would've been harder to justify. Clarita did the right thing, it just wasn't in the cards (literally) for her today.

For those who have been wondering, Michael's total conclusively proves: Yes, they do keep however many dollars they manage to hang on to in Lucky $even. It's been so long since a Lucky $even player won a Showcase that I was actually wondering if they still did that myself. But there you go, proof it still works out.

    1. You have to go all the way back to 17 October to find the most recent Step Up playing.
